Sacramento Senior Portraits | Forest Mountains Snow
At the very start of a portrait session with older kids or seniors, I always take a couple test shots to get my settings right for the light. This is always preceded by my saying, “relax for a moment, I just need to take a couple test shots. Make some funny faces or whatever you want”. Of course the kid relaxes because they know these photos don’t matter and they don’t yet have to be “on” for the camera. So I measure the light, get my camera settings right and snap a few shots while the kid makes ridiculous faces or shoots grins at the accompanying parent or friend. Invariably, one of those shots will be a favorite of mine from the session. In the case of this session, the first image that stood out to me was of Kendra making eyes at her mum while I fiddled with the camera. Love it!
You may have already seen the sneak image of the Marilyn Monroe inspired portrait set. Here are a few more. J’adore!
Her main desire for her senior session was for some portraits in the snow. Unfortunately, there was little snow over the winter, but drive far enough into the mountains and you’re bound to find a few small patches. Up at Pinecrest Lake we found just enough snow to create these magical images.
And the last one. I hope I didn’t crash your computer with all this gorgeousness, but I just couldn’t narrow down the images to share!
Check out those bright blue eyes! Stunning!
